ACCUPIC™ (PTL)

PAPERLESS LIGHT DIRECTED ORDER FULFILLMENT SYSTEMAccupic Pick-to-Light System

SI SYSTEMS’ ACCUPIC™ is a display based Pick-to-Light system which is normally provided as part of a total order fulfillment solution, but can be provided as a stand alone order picking solution, depending on your application requirements. ACCUPIC™ is an advanced light directed paperless picking technology capable of increasing order accuracy and improving picker productivity by 20% to 50% while being very cost effective.

Picking at the ACCUPIC™ system is directed through SINTHESIS™, SI’s Warehouse Control System (WCS) a proprietary software suite comprised of eight software groups with more than two dozen extendible and customizable modules.

ACCUPIC functions are controlled through a Pick-to-Light Director Module built into SINTHESIS™. This module tailors pick lists of individual orders or order batches based on each specific Pick-to-Light configuration. Sequencing of items to be picked is pre-determined, confirmation of correct picks or variances is established and corrective actions are indicated (when required) to resolve potential fulfillment discrepancies immediately. The SINTHESIS™ Pick-to-Light Director communicates pick instructions to the ACCUPIC™ system and receives real-time feedback of picking actions.

Easy Installation

Installing an ACCUPIC™ system is fast and easy because of its modular display units. Display modules are installed at each pick location by simply snapping them into a bus bar extrusion that runs the full length of a flow rack system. These extrusions containing a three wire bus element, eliminating the need for expensive wiring to each display, are installed under or over each row of shelves. The snap in/out feature also facilitates relocating display modules when/if the need arises. Installation is cleaner, eliminating faults due to a poor connection, and speeds up setup time. Each flow rack bay includes an alphanumeric display unit that displays the order number active in that zone.

 Operator / ACCUPIC Interaction
Picking begins when a carton or tote is transferred into a zone where picking is required. The alphanumeric displays above the flow rack bays show the associated order number assigned to that zone. LED’s at each location requiring a pick illuminate to direct a picker in that zone. A four digit display shows the quantity to pick from that location. Two quantity adjustment buttons on each display module allow pickers to adjust the quantity in the event of a short. After the required number of pieces are picked, a pick confirm button is depressed to indicate that a pick is complete. Upon pushing the pick complete button one of three things will occur; (1) the display will merely turn off and the picker will look for the next module in that zone with a pick required indicator light, and move to that location, (2) the display will show the word “PASS” indicating the order should be passed on to the next pick zone, or (3) the display will show the word “DONE” indicating that all picks from the ACCUPIC™ are complete and order should be transferred to the next processing area.
